Industrial-Grade eMMC and UFS Storage Chips Now Available

JH Semiconductor has warehoused and listed a batch of industrial-grade embedded storage chips in eMMC 5.1 and UFS 3.1 specifications, rated for -40°C to 105°C operation and AEC-Q100 qualified, targeting automotive and industrial applications.

In mid-March 2026, JH Semiconductor completed intake inspection and warehousing for a batch of industrial-grade embedded storage chips. The batch comprises two specifications — eMMC 5.1 (16GB/32GB/64GB) and UFS 3.1 (64GB/128GB) — all rated to the industrial temperature grade (-40°C to 105°C) and qualified to AEC-Q100 automotive standards. The products have completed system listing and are open for customer inquiries.

How eMMC and UFS Divide the Work

eMMC packages NAND flash and a controller into a single device; its simple interface and mature ecosystem make it the most widely adopted storage solution in embedded devices. UFS uses a full-duplex serial interface that allows reads and writes to proceed simultaneously, delivering markedly higher performance than eMMC and suiting higher-throughput applications such as in-vehicle infotainment. The two complement each other in performance, capacity and cost, covering the main selection range for embedded scenarios.

Target Applications

This batch is aimed primarily at in-vehicle infotainment systems, industrial gateways, smart meters and other applications with demanding temperature and reliability requirements. Such devices ask different things of storage than consumer products do: stable long-term operation across wide temperature ranges and vibration, long product lifecycles, and strong supply continuity. The industrial temperature grade and automotive qualification exist precisely as gates for these requirements, and are the first screening criteria when selecting such components.
