Blackwell to Top 70% of NVIDIA High-End GPU Shipments in 2026, Reshaping the AI Computing Landscape

According to the latest TrendForce report, the mix of NVIDIA's high-end AI chip shipments will shift dramatically in 2026: the Blackwell series (B200/GB200) is expected to exceed 70% of shipments while the Hopper series (H100/H200) falls to about 7%. NVIDIA GPU server rack shipments are projected to grow from 29,000 in 2025 to 75,000, marking a new expansion phase for AI infrastructure. Blackwell Becomes the Shipment Mainstay

According to the latest AI server industry survey released by TrendForce in April 2026, the mix of NVIDIA's high-end AI chip shipments is undergoing a profound shift in 2026. Delivering 3-5x the AI inference performance of the Hopper generation, the Blackwell series (including B200 and GB200) has become the first choice of cloud service providers and enterprise customers, and its share of shipments is expected to exceed 70%.

At the same time, the Hopper series (H100/H200) will fall rapidly from its dominant position in 2025 to roughly 7% of shipments, serving mainly supplementary purchases by existing customers. Previous-generation products such as the A100 have essentially exited the high-end market.

GPU Server Rack Shipments Surge

Pulled by strong AI demand, NVIDIA GPU server rack shipments are expected to grow to about 75,000 in 2026, well above the roughly 29,000 of 2025 — year-over-year growth of more than 150%. The growth comes mainly from continued capacity expansion by North American hyperscale cloud providers (Microsoft, Google, Amazon, Meta) and the rapid rise of emerging AI computing markets such as China and the Middle East.

Matching the growth in GPU server shipments is a boom across the entire AI infrastructure ecosystem: demand for ABF substrates, MLCCs, thermal modules, high-speed optical modules, and other supporting components is rising sharply in step, and every link of the supply chain faces capacity challenges.

Pull-Through for the Storage and Server Markets

Each AI server requires far more DDR5 memory and NVMe SSD capacity than a conventional server. A GB200 NVL72 rack, for example, is fitted with more than 30TB of DDR5 memory and hundreds of terabytes of NVMe SSD storage — 10-20 times the high-performance memory and storage demand of a conventional server.
